Student mobility for study stays and/or traineeships can be carried out at higher education institutions or organizations in the Erasmus+ program countries. The program countries are the EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden), as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Turkey, and Serbia.

A prerequisite for realizing mobility for study stays is the conclusion of Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreements. For institutions in the field of higher education, the prerequisite is that they have been granted a document called the Erasmus University Charter (EUC), which guarantees that the respective higher education institution will carry out Erasmus program activities in accordance with high quality standards.
