Based on Article 70, paragraph 1 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (“Official Gazette” No. 119/22), pursuant to Articles 44, paragraph 1 and 165, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Statute of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the Senate of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, at its 9th session in the academic year 2024/2025 held on June 25, 2025, under item 8 of the agenda, adopts the following

DECISION

ON THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

1. Classes in university undergraduate study programmes, integrated undergraduate and graduate study programmes, university graduate study programmes, as well as professional undergraduate and professional graduate study programmes conducted at the constituent units of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in the academic year 2025/2026 shall begin on October 1, 2025.

2. Classes in the winter semester of the academic year 2025/2026 shall be held from October 1, 2025 to December 19, 2025, and from January 7 to January 23, 2026.

3. The Christmas and New Year holidays shall last from December 22, 2025 to January 6, 2026.

4. The winter examination period shall last from January 26 to February 20, 2026.

5. Classes in the summer semester of the academic year 2025/2026 shall be held from February 23 to June 5, 2026.

6. The summer examination period shall last from June 8 to July 10, 2026.

7. The autumn examination period shall last from August 24 to September 25, 2026.

8. University constituent units that conduct classes in cycles or block teaching during the academic year 2025/2026 may organize classes within a shorter time frame than that determined for the winter and summer semesters in items 2 and 5 of this Decision.

9. The Holy Mass marking the beginning of the new academic year 2025/2026 shall be held on October 12, 2025, and the Holy Mass of thanksgiving marking the end of the academic year shall be held on June 7, 2026.
