J. J. Strossmayer's Memorial Library

Personal library of Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer is one of the funds of the entire diocesan library in the cathedral. After Strossmayer's death, by order of the Intercalary Commission, it is made a list of the entire inventory, as well as his personal library. The work was entrusted to the prebendaries of cathedral, Marin Lacković. The enumerator is compiled inventory of Strossmayer books that were arranged in the closets and drawers, books are marked with the letter A to the letter T. Fund personal library of Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer includes 4600 volumes of books and brochures, and 1,100 volumes of bound magazines and newspapers and 640 and unbound incomplete volumes of periodical magazines.

Strossmayer's library contains publications with the most diverse areas of theological and secular sciences. The most numerous are the issues in the field of theology: dogmatics, biblical sciences, moral and pastoral theology, spiritual worship, liturgy, preaching literature, canon law, church history and traditional spiritual literature.

In the books by secular science are represented: civil law and secular history, sociology and politics, geography and literature, lexicons and dictionaries.
